There has been some movement around Spitfire warbirds in Australia this year.
Mk.XVI TE392 was reflown at Archerfield on 13 January 2020 and is now registered VH-RAF.
The two Spitfire IXs under restoration at Scone have progressed. MH415 was completed to engine running stage and then sent to the UK for finishing and test flying. It is now registered G-AVDJ.
MH603 is still at Scone and close to flying again.
Other Spitfire news is that Aerial Speed Icons Pty Ltd, owned by Australian Shaun Browne, purchased two Spitfires in the USA, Mk.IX PL344 and Mk.XIV RN201. They were sent to the UK and RN201 has been flying. It is believed that PL344 has been packed in a container and is heading to Australia.
